Born prematurely, Sam struggled with a number of disorders that impacted his airway and caused chronic lung disease, among other issues. Thanks to the three teams making up Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’s Aerodigestive Program — otolaryngology, pulmonology, and gastroenterology — Sam breathes easier and can finally say “Mama.”
