As hospitals prepare for the likely spread of novel coronavirus — also known as COVID-19 — CHA and the Regional Associations continue to work closely with local, state, and federal officials to address questions and concerns from hospitals. See our key messages about hospital preparedness and a web page with ongoing updates from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and more.

In this real-time and fluid situation, with decisions from public health leaders still unfolding, the hospital association teams are in regular communication with public health officials and elected leaders, working to get hospitals the answers they need as quickly as possible.

CHA provides regular email updates — titled Coronavirus Watch — with new information and guidance as it becomes available, sent to CEOs, chief medical officers, chief nursing officers, chief operating officers, in-house counsel, and staff in government relations, infection prevention, human resources, quality & patient safety, emergency preparedness, clinical education, legal, risk, and compliance. CHA has also coordinated with CDPH to host regular calls with hospitals and other providers.
