CHA Prepares Fact Sheet on Data Sharing Agreement

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

The California Health and Human Services Agency has released the Data Sharing Agreement and related policies and procedures required under Assembly Bill (AB) 133. To assist members, CHA has prepared a fact sheet about the Data Sharing Agreement, open items still in consideration, and the next steps for the state.

As a reminder, AB 133 contained requirements for health and human services entities to exchange health information or provide access to health information. Hospitals and other health care entities, including physician groups, health plans, and clinics, are required to sign by January 2023 a Data Sharing Agreement that will govern the exchange of health and human services data in California.
