CHA has issued a detailed summary of the calendar year (CY) 2022 outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) proposed rule. Comments are due to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) by 2 p.m. (PT) on Sept. 17.

The summary details the OPPS proposed rule’s acute care hospital provisions. In addition to annual payment and quality updates, the summary covers proposals related to the inpatient-only list, hospital price transparency regulation compliance, the establishment of a new provider type called the rural emergency hospital, and modifications to the radiation oncology model.

CHA will hold a members-only webinar on the OPPS proposed rule at 9 a.m. (PT) on Aug. 26. The webinar will also cover proposals in the CY 2022 physician fee schedule proposed rule. Register to learn more about these policies and provide input for CHA’s comments.
