CHA Comments on Proposed Financial Penalties for Information Blocking

What’s happening: CHA submitted comments in response to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s (ONC) proposed provider disincentives for information blocking.    

What else to know: Comments were due Jan. 2.   

In the letter, CHA raises concerns about the impact of the penalties and their application only to certain health care providers. CHA also urges the U.S. Office of Inspector General and ONC to provide additional clarity on information blocking regulations and a period of enforcement discretion and additional education.
