CDPH Now Requires Fee for Licensing Applications, Written Notifications

What’s happening: All Facilities Letter (AFL) 25-19 changes the application review process for all applications submitted to the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH’s) Centralized Applications Branch.

What else to know: As of July 1, all licensing applications and written notifications will require an application fee; incomplete applications will be denied.

The AFL also outlines a prescreen process through which CDPH will proactively review incoming application packets to ensure all required forms, supporting documents, and application fees are received; if something is missing, CDPH will issue a one-time prescreen letter requesting the missing item(s). If required information is not received by the deadline indicated on the prescreen letter, the application will be denied and closed, and the facility will be required to submit a new complete application packet.
