The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 22-20, which communicates that all skilled-nursing facility (SNF) residents should be considered eligible to receive treatment for mild-to-moderate COVID-19 and should be evaluated by a prescribing clinician for consideration of COVID-19 therapeutics.

The AFL also provides information on available guidance and resources for evaluating, prescribing, and obtaining COVID-19 therapeutics for SNF residents. Additionally, the AFL encourages SNFs to provide information about obtaining treatment with therapeutics to any health care personnel who test positive for COVID-19.
