CHA Issues Draft Comments on Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Proposed Rule

CHA has issued its draft comments on the Medicaid fiscal accountability regulation proposed rule, which would revise the Medicaid program. Included in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) proposal are changes to the rules for states to finance their non-federal share of Medicaid costs and calculate their associated upper payment limit, as well as new reporting requirements.

CHA Expresses Concerns on NQF Draft Standards for Serious Reportable Events

In a recent comment letter, CHA commended the National Quality Forum (NQF) on improvements to its draft standards for serious reportable events; however, CHA also expressed serious concerns about the lack of specificity of some of the measure definitions. The NQF report is updated every four years and sets national standards for data collection and public reporting of serious reportable events. After reviewing comments, NQF will release a revised report before the end of January, and NQF members, including CHA, will vote on the report.
