The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 20-85, which informs skilled-nursing facilities (SNFs) of the requirement that they have a full-time dedicated infection preventionist, a plan for infection prevention control, and annual training for all health care personnel, as provided in Assembly Bill (AB) 2644.

The updated Care Can’t Wait messaging incorporates results from the latest online poll (July 2020), as well as a social media toolkit with variety of mix-and-match social posts and graphics that can help you communicate these safety messages.

As CHA continues to press federal agencies to correct the independent dispute resolution process in the second No Surprises Act interim final rule (during negotiations, Congress removed language to ensure a level playing field in arbitration, but the interim rule does the opposite by mandating a benchmark rate), we are asking every hospital in California to reaffirm your commitment to billing and price transparency best practices that deliver for patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
