Report Highlights Continued Strain of Pandemic on Hospitals

new report, prepared for the American Hospital Association by Kaufman Hall, projects that hospitals nationwide will lose an estimated $54 billion in net income throughout 2021, even after taking federal relief into account.  

The report cites increased expenses for labor in a tight labor market, drugs and supplies, as well as patients delaying care as continued challenges for hospitals and health systems.
