Reminder: State Requiring Patient Data to Better Understand Breakthrough Cases

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

A reminder that under All Facilities Letter (AFL) 21-25, which took effect July 27, CDPH is requiring general acute care hospitals to report patient-level discharge information for each hospitalized person who tests positive for COVID-19. This information will assist CDPH in better understanding breakthrough COVID-19 cases.

Each Tuesday, hospitals must send their data to CDPH via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). For information on setting up the SFTP or additional details on data reporting, please refer to AFL 21-25 or CDPH’s FAQs. Any questions can be directed to CDPH at its CalREDIE Help Desk at calrediehelp@cdph.ca.gov.
