CHA encourages members to register now for the upcoming Hospital Employee Safety and Workers’ Compensation seminar, to be held March 14 in Costa Mesa and March 20 in Sacramento.

Leaves of absence and workers’ compensation claims can difficult for hospitals and health care systems to manage, as well as quite costly. This seminar provides unique opportunities for attendees to interact with human resource specialists and workers’ compensation experts throughout the day to solve problems related to various leaves of absence and workers’ compensation matters.

One such expert is Cindy Parker, senior vice president, casualty operations with Sedgewick, a national claims management firm. Parker notes, “In California, large health care systems can experience, on average, more than 2,100 new workers’ compensation claims each year with an average cost per claim of up to $8,500. Litigated and lost time cases often average significantly higher cost per claim.”

Developed for health care professionals in human resources, workers’ compensation, employee health, compliance, risk management and nursing, this seminar is an excellent opportunity for hospital staff to keep their facilities in compliance while networking with colleagues.
