On Aug. 30, the American Hospital Association held a webinar with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to discuss a proposed process and draft methodology for reviewing hospital public assistance projects for potential duplication of benefits with patient care revenue. A recording of the webinar is now available.

FEMA is accepting feedback on the proposed methodology until 2 p.m. (PT) on Sept. 15. CHA encourages members to provide feedback to the agency by the deadline. Comments should be submitted to fema-pa-patientcarerevenue@fema.dhs.gov.

On Aug. 9, CHA sent a letter to FEMA in response to the agency’s proposed efforts to prevent duplication of benefits and raised concerns about the way the draft methodology was shared and the lack of opportunity for hospitals to provide comments.
