Prop 35 Campaign Releases Hospital-Specific Social Media Toolkit

What’s happening: The election is 24 days away, and every vote is critical — help spread the word to vote yes on Proposition (Prop) 35 with the new Prop 35 Social Media Toolkit for Hospitals.

What else to know: Hospitals that aren’t yet members of the coalition supporting Prop 35 — which would make permanent an existing fee on managed care organizations that enables the state to draw on federal matching funds to improve Medi-Cal — can still join.

As the election nears, efforts to spread awareness and secure more yes votes on Prop 35 are crucial. CHA has worked with Prop 35’s campaign organizers to develop a hospital-specific Social Media Toolkit, which includes Facebook and Instagram posts, X/Twitter posts (including images), Zoom backgrounds, social media best practices, content ideas and examples, and more.

Joining the Yes on Prop 35 coalitions means aligning with fellow hospitals, Planned Parenthood of California, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the California Medical Association, and many others who understand that their voices need to be heard in support of Prop 35. To join the coalition, visit the Yes on Prop 35 website.

As previously mentioned, if Prop 35 is successful, it is expected to generate between $5 billion and $11 billion annually for hospitals, doctors, federally qualified health centers, and others who care for Medi-Cal patients. Of that amount, as much as $1.4 billion is expected to be allocated to hospitals in 2025, with the amount growing to an estimated $2.6 billion annually starting in 2027.
