Plumas District Hospital

Plumas District Hospital is your source for the best health care in the county.

PDH traces its roots back to 1955, when a group of residents formed the Plumas Hospital District. The purpose was to build a state-of-the-art medical care facility to serve Plumas County’s population.

In 1959, PDH opened its doors with 25 beds, 14 staff and 5 registered nurses. Then in the mid-1960s, an addition was built to house new equipment. Ambulance service was added in the mid-70s. The Plumas Community Clinic opened in 1988.

At present, PDH is a Critical Access hospital, which offers a variety of services to the residents of central Plumas County. With four family physicians, visiting specialists and approximately 200 employees, PDH takes pride in fulfilling our regional health care needs.

Core services include primary and emergency services, obstetrics and surgery, which are supported by an array of laboratory and diagnostic services, including MRI. It is through generous donations of community members that PDH can continue to provide high quality health care services, close to home.
