Office of Health Care Affordability Will Play Key Role in California’s Health Care Future

In early July, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation establishing the Office of Health Care Affordability, a new, far-reaching agency that will hold significant sway over how health care is paid for and delivered in California in the future. Following his signature, California became the 10th state in the nation to have state agencies or oversight that establish targets for health care cost growth.  

Sens. Padilla and Feinstein Urge FEMA to Disburse COVID-19 Reimbursements

On Sept. 20, U.S. Sens. Alex Padilla and Dianne Feinstein wrote to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) urging the agency to swiftly disburse reimbursements for emergency protective measures taken by hospitals to combat COVID-19. CHA thanks the senators for their commitment to ensuring hospitals receive these essential funds.  

Division of Occupational Safety and Health Issues Monkeypox Guidance

In response to both the state and federal declaration of emergency due to monkeypox (MPX), the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) has issued guidance on how MPX is addressed by the Aerosol Transmissible Disease (ATD) standard.
