Passed off the Senate Appropriations Committee suspense file on May 14. Pending a Senate floor vote.

SB 995 would create a new regulatory framework for involuntary residential facilities with 50 or more beds in California, including detention facilities. CHA is working with the author to make sure this bill would not create new or duplicative regulations for large locked psychiatric facilities.
