Passed the Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee on April 13. April 20 hearing in the Senate Privacy, Digital Technologies, and Consumer Protection Committee.
SB 903 would prohibit licensed professionals from using artificial intelligence (AI) in therapy sessions unless the patient consents. It also bans advertising or offering therapy services through AI unless they are conducted by a licensed professional. Furthermore, the bill prohibits AI from making independent therapeutic decisions in client communications.
