Passed the Senate and ordered returned to the Senate on Sept. 4, 2025. The Senate voted to rescind the action passing the bill to the Assembly in 2025 on Aug. 25, 2026. Pending a Senate floor vote.
AB 220 would prohibit Medi-Cal managed care plans from denying or imposing additional criteria for the authorization of subacute services so long as the provider substantiates that a patient has met the medical necessity criteria specified in state law for the Medi-Cal fee-for-service delivery system.
