AB 1629 (Haney, D-San Francisco) Details
Passed the Assembly Health Committee on March 18. Placed on the Assembly Appropriations Committee suspense file on April 8.
AB 1629 would require a health plan or insurer to accept a patient’s written assignment of benefits for out-of-network services, enabling them to pay a non-contracting dental provider directly for covered services. The Department of Managed Health Care and Department of Insurance would also be required to review the adequacy of dental provider networks.
