What’s happening: The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will hold a virtual public workshop on May 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (PT) to share developments on California’s Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, which will require certain entities doing business in California to annually report specific emission data.
What else to know: California’s Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program was established by Senate Bill (SB) 253 (2023) and SB 261 (2023) — climate disclosure bills that aim to improve transparency via the new reporting requirements. Registration for the workshop is open.
During the workshop, staff will present an overview of SB 253, SB 261, and SB 219 (2024), which extended certain deadlines and implemented administrative changes. Attendees will also learn about a timeline for regulatory development, receive an overview of stakeholder feedback received from CARB’s recent solicitation for information, and more. Staff will also take verbal feedback during the workshop.
