As we start the new year, many new faces will be coming to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Here in California, some three dozen new legislators have been sworn in and will take state office for the first time. In our nation’s capital, President-elect Trump is preparing to bring a different approach to, and new priorities for, health care policy than that of the Biden administration.
For California hospitals, and as your advocate at the state and federal level, the longstanding goals of ensuring that health care services are available, of high quality, and accessible to all, do not change.
As a reminder, CHA has several standing resources available should you want to check in on any of the issues important to you:
- CHA’s state Bill Tracker (https://calhospital.org/advocacy/bill-tracker/) – an online resource updated in real time with the status of key health care bills
- CHA’s federal Legislative Tracker (https://calhospital.askflorence.org/Data/LegislativeTracker) – a key tool to understand where members of Congress sit on important bills
- CHA’s federal Regulatory Tracker (https://calhospital.org/advocacy/cha-regulatory-tracker/) – highlighting open comment periods and anticipated releases for key health care regulations
- CHA’s federal Litigation Tracker (https://calhospital.askflorence.org/Data/LitigationTracker) – monitoring lawsuits that affect hospitals:
- The 2024 Report on Legislation (https://calhospital.org/file/2024-report-on-legislation/) – summarizing significant health care laws that go into effect this year
- CHA News (https://calhospital.org/newsroom/) – a weekly publication delivered each Thursday to your inbox that provides the latest information on advocacy, policy, data, education, and more
As we look toward this year, we fully recognize the financial, regulatory, and environmental challenges you face, and we are grateful for your trust in us to help navigate those challenges. Through it all, we must continue to stand together — to ensure that hospitals will always be able to serve those in need.
