HRSA Announces Opportunity for Select PRF Payments To Be Reissued

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has announced a one-time voluntary opportunity for providers to have their Provider Relief Fund (PRF) Reporting Period 1 (RP1) payments reissued. This opportunity is available if the provider did not submit a RP1 report by the deadline and returned funds prior to HRSA announcing the Request to Report Late Due to Extenuating Circumstances on April 6, 2022.

Providers who wish to have their payments reissued should follow the following process:

  • Register in the PRF Reporting Portal
  • Submit a request to participate via a DocuSign form between July 18 and July 29 at 8:59 p.m. (PT).  A link to the form will be available in the coming weeks.
  • Requests will be reviewed, and providers will be notified when they may submit an RP1 report via the PRF Reporting Portal
  • Providers will have approximately two weeks to complete the report (projected dates for submission are from Aug. 22 to Sept. 9). To prepare to report, please refer to the How to Report  web page for guidance on completing and submitting a report.

Providers who do not report on use of funds by the deadline (estimated to be Sept. 9) to submit the RP1 report will not be reissued their original PRF payment.

Providers are not required to participate in this opportunity unless they would like their returned payments to be reissued. If an organization is no longer in need of the returned payment, no action is required at this time.

UnitedHealth Group, HRSA’s contractor, will deliver the funds via its Automated Clearing House. The automated payments will be sent via Optum Bank to the group’s central billing office.

HRSA anticipates reissuing PRF funds in October 2022 for providers who submit a complete report on time and are in good standing.
