The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently announced the availability of $1 billion in funding available for health centers appropriated by the American Rescue Plan (ARP). To be eligible, an organization must be an existing health center receiving Health Center Program operational support under sections 330(e), (g), (h), and/or (i) of the Public Health Service Act at the time of application and at the time of award.

Health centers that receive this funding may use it for COVID-19-related capital needs and to construct new facilities, renovate and expand existing facilities, and purchase new equipment. Specific examples of what the funds can be used for are included in the notice of funding opportunity. Funds awarded must be fully obligated by the end of the three-year period of performance.

Applications are due by 3 p.m. (PT) on June 24. HRSA is holding webinars on May 6 to provide an overview of the opportunity and on May 18 to review the application submission process.
