HQI and Hospital Council Annual Conference to Focus on Artificial Intelligence

What’s happening: The Hospital Quality Institute (HQI) and Hospital Council will host a joint 2024 Annual Conference Oct. 20-21 in Lake Tahoe. 

What else to know: Registration is open. Speakers include industry leaders in artificial intelligence (AI) use in health care.    

The event will focus on:  

  • How AI is being used to enhance patient care and augment stretched hospital resources  
  • Building transparent, effective communication to improve workplace performance  
  • Quantifying the benefits of investing in a culture of safety  

The conference features top experts on AI and health care, including the lead AI officers from UC Davis Health, UC San Diego Health, and UC San Francisco Health. Other AI speakers include Vinay K. Prasad, MD, Rebecca ‘Becky’ Messing Haigler, MPH, MBA, and a keynote from UCSF’s Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD. Topics to be addressed include how artificial intelligence is being applied to medical imaging, telehealth, behavioral health, and reducing burnout. 

The event will include four breakout tracks (AI, Applied Data, Workforce Support, General Patient Safety) and will end with a keynote from Hall of Fame swimmer Diana Nyad, who will share a story of teambuilding and human accomplishment.
