With National Volunteer Week upon us, April 20-26, we understand many members are taking this time to prepare for their volunteer celebratory events. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope you can join us for the May 8 Mid-Day Meet-Up.
Join us for the May Mid-Day Meet-Up as we explore the vital role volunteer programs play in supporting hospitals. These programs not only enhance the patient experience but also deliver significant economic value. As someone who manages or supports a hospital volunteer program, you understand this firsthand — but have you ever wondered how your peers across California and the nation approach the same work?
The May session will focus on benchmarking — the importance of collecting and analyzing data, and reporting your findings to strengthen the impact of volunteerism in health care.
Maryellen Brady, Director of Volunteer Services at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Barbara Rutherford, Area Volunteer Coordinator, San Diego and Hawaii Care at Home, Hospice at Kaiser Permanente – Southern California, will share an overview of an upcoming national benchmarking survey for health care volunteer programs and call for your input and participation.
During the registration process please share the types of data your program currently collects and insights on what additional metrics would be valuable for future benchmarking.
New or seasoned volunteer leaders — paid or unpaid — are encouraged to participate.
The registration deadline is 10 a.m., Thursday, May 8.

Access to the library is available to members who agree to the Notice of Access/Use when registering for a Mid-Day Meet-Up.
