Covered California is opening a special enrollment period from Feb. 1 to May 15 for those who are uninsured and eligible to enroll in health care coverage through Covered California.

The announcement follows President Biden’s Jan. 28 executive order on Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage, which instructed the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services to open a special enrollment period for plans on the federal exchanges.

Covered California’s current open enrollment period ran through Jan. 31, and individuals were required to sign up by then for coverage that starts Feb. 1.
