The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued new No Surprises Act frequently asked questions (FAQs).
The FAQs provide a chart clarifying the circumstances when the balance billing protections apply to certain providers. The FAQs also provide additional details related to the situations in which the notice and consent process may be used to balance bill a patient who has received care from an out-of-network provider at an in-network facility.
