The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) posted a new Frequently Asked Questions document that provides additional guidance on the extraordinary circumstance exception the agency previously granted for certain inpatient quality reporting (IQR) program requirements. The updated guidance includes submission deadlines, time periods covered, and where to find additional information.
CMS previously released guidance in response to COVID-19 public health emergency that includes:
- Updated guidance on July 2 for hospital quality reporting and value-based payment programs
- A March 27 guidance memo excepting certain program requirements and including some validation requirements for the Hospital IQR Program for fiscal years 2021 and 2022.
