CHA Responds to FEMA’s Proposed Methodology for Preventing Duplication of Benefits

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

On Sept. 13, CHA provided feedback to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on its voluntary methodology for reviewing hospital public assistance projects for duplication of benefits with patient care revenue from third-party payers and requested that FEMA conduct duplication of benefits reviews on an expedited basis.

CHA looks forward to continuing to work with the agency to develop an equitable framework for identifying and offsetting payments for health care services that duplicate expenses submitted for FEMA public assistance.

CHA thanks members for their feedback, which informed comments.
