CHA has issued a detailed summary, prepared by Health Policy Alternatives, of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) interim final rule with comment period that extends the compliance deadline for provider information blocking requirements from Nov. 2, 2020, to April 5, 2021.
The summary details updated applicability and compliance dates for the information blocking provisions of the ONC Cures Act final rule, certain 2015 edition health information technology (IT) certification criteria, and conditions and maintenance of certification start requirements under the ONC Health IT Certification Program. Additionally, ONC makes a great number of technical changes to its regulations.
Comments are due to ONC by 2 p.m. (PT) on Jan. 4, 2021. A recording and slides from the Nov. 2 ONC informational presentation on the rule are now available.
