CHA has issued a members-only summary, prepared by Health Policy Alternatives, Inc., of the supplemental federal fiscal year (FFY) 2022 inpatient prospective payment system (IPPS) final rule.

The rule implements legislative changes to Medicare payments to teaching hospitals contained in the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) and addresses organ acquisition payment policies through changes, clarifications, and codifications relative to organ procurement organizations, transplant hospitals, and donor community hospitals. These provisions were not finalized in the first FFY 2022 IPPS final rule released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
