CHA Issues Advocacy Alert Ahead of Hospital-Focused Congressional Committee Hearings

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

Last week, CHA issued an advocacy alert targeted to hospital members with representatives on the following committees, which have scheduled hospital-specific hearings later this week:

  • House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee
  • House Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee
  • House Appropriations Labor HHS Subcommittee
  • House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions

On Wednesday, April 26, four House subcommittees will hold hearings on issues and legislation affecting hospitals. While many of the issues that will be discussed in the hearings could be detrimental to hospitals — site-neutral payment, physician-owned hospitals, reductions in outpatient payments, limits to 340B, and challenges to not-for-profit status — there is also one bill that CHA supports: H.R. 2665, which would delay the scheduled Medicaid DSH cuts.  Members should reach out to their representatives no later than COB Tuesday, April 25.
