CHA DataSuite has released hospital-specific analyses of the calendar year (CY) 2022 Medicare home health prospective payment system (PPS) final rule.

The analysis is intended to show home health providers how Medicare fee-for-service payments will change from CY 2021 to CY 2022 based on the policies set forth in the CY 2022 home health PPS final rule; the summary can be found on the CHA website.

CY 2022 home health final rule changes modeled in this analysis include market basket update, Affordable Care Act-mandated productivity reduction, case-mix budget neutrality, wage index budget neutrality adjustment, wage index and labor share change, rural add-on, and all other adjustments.

This analysis utilizes the CY 2022 home health final rule OASIS limited data set, which uses CY 2020 claims data as its basis and does not estimate the impact of home health agency level changes due to volume or case-mix. This analysis does not estimate the home health-specific revenue impacts of changes to patient-driven grouping model weights.
