The CHA Board of Trustees met July 18-19, continuing an important dialogue about health care affordability. The board discussed the need for hospitals to lead affordability discussions, connect the right stakeholders, and identify holistic solutions that bring down the cost of care, keeping the needs of patients at top of mind and not simply reducing reimbursement.
The board also received reports highlighting the status of key federal and state legislative and regulatory proposals, as well as a review of the 2019-21 Hospital Fee Program, which is currently estimated to net benefits equal to or less than the 2017-19 program.
Finally, members were encouraged to support the California Hospital Association’s Political Action Committee (CHPAC) through personal contributions as well as by promoting its importance among their leadership teams.
