For all 340B hospitals

On June 9, CHA issued an alert asking hospitals to urge their U.S. senators and representatives to support bipartisan legislation that preserves program eligibility for certain 340B hospitals during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Legislation in both the House and the Senate would enable hospitals that were participating in or applied for the 340B drug discount program prior to the COVID-19 public health emergency to temporarily maintain eligibility for the program by waiving the required minimum proportion of low-income patients served for hospitals.

Hospitals are asked to call or email their representatives and senators by July 2.

Additionally, CHA encourages 340B hospitals facing removal from the 340B drug discount program to email their eligibility concerns about the impact of patient mix changes due to COVID-19 directly to the Health Resources & Service Administration Office of Pharmacy Affairs staff: Capt. James Morris at JMorris@hrsa.gov and Chantelle Britton at CBritton@hrsa.gov. Please share a copy of your correspondence with Nicole Hoffman, federal relations manager, at nhoffman@calhospital.org.
