CDPH Issues Visitor Guidance or General Acute Care Hospitals

This post has been archived and contains information that may be out of date.

Following up on the public health order issued on Sept. 15, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) issued All Facilities Letter (AFL) 21-31.1 on visitor guidance for general acute care hospitals.

The AFL notes that visitors must continue to comply with CDPH masking guidance while in indoor settings and should continue to maintain all current infection prevention practices to continue protecting these most vulnerable populations.

In addition, CDPH recommends that hospitals allow all patients to have visitors without restriction, provided that physical distancing can be accomplished. Regardless of their vaccination status, visitors should be screened for fever and COVID-19 symptoms.
