The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued All Facilities Letter 23-16, which clarifies California state requirements for family councils in skilled-nursing facilities (SNFs).
CDPH notes that California state law continues to require that SNFs must have family councils, even though the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued guidance that does not require them.
