CHA Issues Summary of CMS’ Interim Final Rule on Additional Regulatory Flexibilities

CHA has issued a members-only summary, prepared by Health Policy Alternatives, on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) second interim final rule providing hospitals and health care providers with additional regulatory flexibilities during the COVID-19 public health emergency. The new regulatory waivers and rules — most of which apply immediately and for the duration of the public health emergency —include provisions to support and expand COVID-19 diagnostic testing, increase hospital capacity, augment the health care workforce, reduce administrative burden and expand Medicare telehealth services.
