What’s happening: The American Hospital Association (AHA) is giving hospitals extra time to complete its Annual Survey, which will help health care leaders, policymakers, and researchers describe and understand hospital operations. The deadline has been extended to Aug. 11.
What else to know: So far, only 5% of California’s hospitals have completed this year’s survey. Because California has the second largest number of hospitals in the country — as well as high labor costs, added regulations, seismic standards, and more — it is crucial that information from all California hospitals is included in this critical national data set.
Health care leaders, policymakers, and researchers use the AHA Annual Survey to describe and understand hospital operations, while CHA and AHA use data and insights drawn from the survey to support advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels. CHA also uses the data to educate policymakers about the realities facing hospital and health system leaders as they care for patients and communities.
To access the survey, log in through the AHA Annual Survey’s single sign on option. Contact AHA at (800) 530-9092 or surveysupport@aha.org with questions or for assistance completing the survey.
