Gratitude

Year after year, on the last Thursday of November, the country takes a breath.

Businesses close. Families visit. Kitchens are busy.

It’s an autumnal pause before the frenzy of the end-of-year holidays — a uniquely American tradition of Thanksgiving.

Reflecting on the work we do on your behalf, the spirit of togetherness and community support is clearly alive and well in California hospitals.

To be sure, this has been a difficult year. From massive health care cuts to political polarization to economic uncertainty. Through it all, hospitals remain stalwart — places of comfort and care where Californians can go when they are facing great uncertainty in their own lives.

There’s a through-line here. As the nation celebrates a historical moment where people were supported and saved by their community, we at CHA are deeply grateful for your work as hospital leaders to carry on that worthy cause.

The spirit of Thanksgiving — a deep appreciation for not only the things we have but also for the things we can give to others — reflects the mission of all hospitals: To care for those in need; to provide hope and healing where others cannot.

On behalf of your team here at CHA, thank you for all you do every day to make California stronger, and to be there for Californians in need.
