The annual California Hospital Volunteer Leadership Conference (view photo gallery) took place earlier this week in Sacramento. Hosted by the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems Volunteer Services, the conference brought together more than 200 hospital volunteers and volunteer leaders, as well as 31 speakers, 14 exhibitors, and several pet therapy animals.
Leaders gathered to learn, share, and gain inspiration to do even greater work caring for the patients and communities their hospitals serve. Event highlights included presentations on health care innovations and patient-centered care, as well as roundtable discussions that allowed attendees to learn from their peers. Those who participated in the conference left with new ideas and tools that will further maximize volunteers’ contributions within their own hospitals.
