Tips, How To’s & Resources

Recently, a dear colleague of the Inside the Associations team was faced with a gigantic task: cleaning out her Outlook mailbox.

She said she had emails from the very dawn of Outlook, when Daunersaurs roamed the CHA office and men wore ties (every day!)

Her task was huge: to sift through 27 gigabytes of folders and sent email – two decades of electronic correspondence – and retain the “important stuff,” while casting off the items that were less so.

Confused by email distribution lists, or unsure what list to use when sending a message?

Many of us are.

Navigating these lists is a bit like being lost in the country and getting driving directions from a local. He can’t tell you the name of the road to turn on, but it’s just beyond a big tree.

In other words, after a while, you get it, but explaining it to someone else is a different story.

Bob Smith is celebrating his 23th anniversary with HASC in November.  The number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 when he was hired was “Doo Wop (That Thing)” by Lauryn Hill. After more than two decades, Bob remains steadfast in doing “that thing.”

Laura Jones is marking her 12th anniversary at HASDIC this month. The date of her hire coincides with a reunion of 90’s pop favorites the Spice Girls. Coincidence? We think not. Laura’s no “Wannabe” when it comes to serving our members.
