The purpose of this mutual aid support agreement is to aid hospitals in their emergency management by authorizing the Hospital Mutual Aid System (H-MAS). H-MAS addresses the loan of medical personnel, pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment, or assistance with emergent hospital evacuation, including accepting transferred patients.

Following the drills, personnel felt less distress and more comfortable with emergency responses. Preparing for these types of incidents pose challenges, but not preparing can be devastating. Active threats can involve more than just shooters with firearms– threats can include guns, knives or even explosives. Healthcare facilities must plan and prepare for the worst-case scenario.

CHEMM Intelligent Syndromes Tool (Beta)

CHEMM-IST is a prototype decision support tool developed by experts in medicine and emergency response as an aid for identifying the chemical a patient was exposed to in a mass casualty incident. Toxic syndromes or toxidromes are easily identified with only a few observations.
