Wanted to send a personal note to volunteers throughout California about Joan Cardellino, CAVS, who has decided to pursue opportunities outside of the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (CAHHS). Her last day with us was November 13. As many of you know, Joan is a life-long servant leader and, for more than 13 years, directed her passion toward elevating the role of volunteers in California’s hospitals. Despite strong opposition from CHA and the hospital field, CMS finalized an expansion of its site-neutral payment policies.
