Passed the Senate on Sept. 12. Assembly agreed to Senate amendments on Sept. 13. Pending governor’s action.
AB 1392 would require hospitals with operating expenses of $50 million or more and hospitals that are part of a system with operating expenses of $25 million or more to submit annual plans to the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) detailing how the hospital plans to increase procurement from minority, women, LGBT, and disabled veteran businesses. The plans would be posted on HCAI’s website for public access. Failure to submit the plan would result in a civil penalty of $100 per day.
