DHCS Extends Deadline for Hospital-Directed Contract Status File

As previously reported in CHA News, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) last month released the fiscal year 2018-19 Phase 2 encounter data files for hospitals and health plans to begin reconciling the contract status. These encounter files will be used in the calculations for the Hospital Fee Program managed care directed payments. DHCS has announced it will extend the deadline for hospitals and health plans to submit reconciled files from July 17 to July 31.

2019-21 Hospital Fee Program Invoices Due July 8

Invoices for the 2019-21 Hospital Fee Program, fee-for-service cycle 3, were mailed on March 20. Hospitals are reminded that payments are due July 8. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) prefers fee payments to be made via electronic funds transfer.  

CMS Approves Hospital Fee Program Managed Care Rates

On Monday, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) shared four approval letters, dated May 18 and May 26, from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The approved rates include  only the Hospital Fee Program for Jan. 1-June 30, 2017. DHCS is still waiting on CMS’ approval of rates for state fiscal years 2017-18 and  2018-19.

Invoices for the 2019-21 Hospital Fee Program, fee-for-service cycle 2, were mailed on March 20. Hospitals are reminded that payments are due Wednesday, May 20. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) prefers fee payments to be made via electronic funds transfer.  

2019-21 Hospital Fee Program Invoices Due April 29

As shared previously in CHA News, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) sent hospitals invoices covering the first four fee-for-service cycles of the 2019-21 Hospital Fee Program in March. The first invoice is due on April 29 and covers July 1, 2019-Sept. 30, 2019. Hospitals will receive the first fee-for-service payment on May 18.  

Applications Due March 30 for Children’s Hospital Program

The California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) reminds eligible hospitals (public or private nonprofit) that provide pediatric services to children eligible for the California Children’s Services program, of the deadline to apply for the first funding round of the Children’s Hospital Program of 2018. Applications must be received by CHFFA by 5 p.m. (PT) on March 30.
