CHA DataSuite has released the Medicare hospital federal fiscal year (FFY) 2022 wage index and occupational mix data analysis, which is designed in the Information Builders platform. The data analyzed are “revised” and are the second of three wage and occupational mix data public use files (PUFs) that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued to develop the hospital wage index for FFY 2022.

The analysis is intended to show providers how Medicare outpatient fee-for-service payments will change from CY 2020 to CY 2021 based on the policies set forth in the proposed rule.

The analysis allows hospitals to test their potential ability to achieve a federal fiscal year (FFY) 2022 Medicare hospital wage index reclassification. Applications for FFY 2022 hospital wage index reclassifications are due to the Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board by Sept. 1.
