CHA will partner with the American Hospital Association to host an Advocacy Day on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Washington, D.C. Following the federal government shutdown in October, Congress tasked a conference committee with crafting a long-term budget and deficit reduction plan. The conference committee has a Dec. 13 deadline, and Congress must vote on the plan by Jan. 15, 2014, when the current continuing resolution expires. Hospitals have been subjected to more than $95 billion in reductions since 2010 and remain vulnerable to additional cuts in these budget negotiations.
CHA urges hospital leaders to join colleagues in Washington, D.C., to share the message with their legislators that additional cuts are unsustainable and may jeopardize patients’ access to care.
