As of April 1, 26 counties were approved to deliver Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) services, representing nearly 88 percent of the Medi-Cal population statewide. Fourteen additional counties are in various phases of implementation.

The DMC-ODS provides a continuum of care modeled after the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for substance use disorder treatment services. The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has issued 810 ASAM designations to alcohol and drug treatment providers in California. More information about the DMC-ODS is available on the DHCS website.
